Our theme in Extended Day for the month of September is resilience. Resilience is the ability to accomplish things despite difficulties. We will be reinforcing this skill throughout the month.
Our project for this month focuses on ART! We are going to be choosing a famous artist and making one collective art piece that combines the elements of that artist.
To make things interesting, there is a competition going on between the Extended Day Programs at each school in the district. The Extended Day Coordinator will visit each school on September 25th to see our finished projects and the supervisors will vote for the best one (we can't vote for our own school!). The winning school will win a pizza party the following Friday!
Check back soon for pictures of what our students come up with!
Each week, we will also be focusing on different character traits in Extended Day.
For September, this is what we plan on discussing with the children:
1) I am responsible
2) I am honest and fair
3) I am kind
4) I respect myself.
